An Afghan rug, a majestic Turkman Bukhara, pre-owned in very good condition. Hand-knotted, wool on wool foundation. Healthy pile, great strong borders - dense knotting yet flexible. The folding creases will disappear. The typical elephant foot print Bukhara design in five rows called gulls. The red color is not quite as glowing as the photos show. Some fading visible and moted colors.
Turkman rugs are tribal inspired rugs originated in central Asia. The term Turkman rugs covers a whole range of carpets from different regions such as Uzbekistan, Turkemistan and Afghanistan. Size 10'4" x 7'3".
