Afghan Rug, an authentic Shirivan Soumak, a vintage collector item piece, clean. Unique design, tree of life, colors from vegetable and mineral dyes. Some small color bleedings. Shiravan Soumaks are Caucasus style rugs primarily hand woven by nomadic tribal weavers in Afghanistan, they are flat weave kilims, tribal style tapestry. The rug is basically a embroidered piece of cloth. Soumak is a spice and is used as dye for the Shiravan flat weave. Size 6'0" x 3'9".
