Although well known as an American novelist, London was an accomplished photographer as well, producing nearly twelve thousand photographs during his lifetime, including documenting the 1906 San Francisco earthquake as a photojournalist for Collier's magazine. R. A. Leet & Co. Oakland, California sold stationary, as well as photography supplies and equipment. Based on my research, it appears that Jack London is using a R. A. Leet & Co. wood tripod in the image to the left which I include only for illustrative purposes. Photo of London is NOT included.
Excellent clean condition. Tiny chip to upper right corner. Check has been stored in an acid-free archival safe sheet protector for 20 years. Never displayed.
