I like to think of myself as the guy who will open up the Guardian and see a listing for something weird and offbeat (think roller disco in GG park or urban iditarod) and think “ok, that’s different, but might be fun and at the very least a good story.” So what about me? I take my work seriously but it’s not the focus of my life. My friends are the coolest people on earth. A fast metabolism has kept me out of the gym since school stopped mandating it, but always up for hike or run. I'm really into new bands and see a lot of shows. Waking up in the morning knowing I have a new album to listen to can be reason enough to get out of bed. I’m not known for domesticity, my fridge will generally be home to some bottles of water and baby carrots. But I order take-out like no one’s business and am always ready to try new restaurants and can actually help out in the kitchen if given a simple, repetitive task. I somehow missed out on the genes which dictate tidiness, affinity for Cher or the belief that my dancing skills need to be shared with the world. Though the Golden Girls do crack me up. What else? Youtube over television, Obama over Clinton (Hillary, but not Bill), side salad over fries, NYT over Chronicle, thrillers over comedy, fleece hoodies over fancy jeans, walking over cabs, dive bar over trendy club, black coffee over chai, music festivals over Burning Man (great experience though), Anchor Steam over PBR, exceptions over rules. I'm looking for someone who falls between ‘returns my calls’ and ‘stalker’. I’m generally attracted to guys who are masculine, well-informed without pushing their beliefs on to others. Having a hobby or sport or any kind of pursuit that you're passionate about is sexy to me. If you can teach me billiards it’s a big plus. Truth be told, I’m a little skeptical about online dating, In theory, it’s great to meet someone already knowing their favorite color, most recent movie seen and position on reptiles.
